African Human development Centre Presented Personal Protection Equipment to Akwa Ibom Rural during COVID-19 Pandemic.


Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic is not only ravaging urban areas/cities in developing and developed countries. It also takes its toll on the rural communities. Worst hit are the poor, aged and vulnerable households. To help rural households reduce the spread as well as cushion the effect of the virus, African Human Development Centre (AHDC) undertook a two-pronged intervention in Akwa Ibom State. First over 30 community facilitators and leaders were trained on COVID-19 prevention through community awareness. A total of 14 communities namely; Ikot Udobia, Ndon Utim, Ikot Aka, Ikot Udotto, Ikot Mfon ,Ikot Umiang Ede, Iwo Etor, Nkana, Itung Ekpip, Ikot Unya, Ikot Akama, Mkpeti Itam and Minya Ntak were covered.
